The author and her husband plan a trip to Panama, envisioning the thrill of experiencing one of the wonders of the world, the Panama Canal. An execpted dimension is added to their itinerary when the author's son, Jude, tells her the story of his relationship with famous Panamanian boxer, Roberto Durán. Skinny.” After exploring the history and culture of Panama for eight days, transiting the Canal, visiting the Embera and Kuna peoples in the jungle, and enjoying luxury hotels, the travelers end their journey in search of the boxer. The author and son, Jude Leita Kaldi Davis worked for the United Nations and UNESCO, for Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and Harvard University. She worked with Roma (Gypsies) for fifteen years, became a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal at the age of 55, then went to work for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Haiti for five years.
